Golf Swing Depression? Here Are 3 Solid Tips To Make Them Better
The game of golf requires that every player, amateur or pro, to forever work on improving the fabled golf swing. If you golf, and you probably are if you’re reading this, then you know how utterly driven pro golfers are in the relentless search for perfection. A weekend golfer can go broke buying everything that is available to try to improve their game such as that cantankerous golf swing. Power matters but it’s more about what can be done with that power that really is the most important consideration. You also probably know that there are exercises and techniques for improving accuracy. The rest of this article is all about making your golf swing the envy of your local golf course.
When you’re driving for distance, or any situation actually, be mindful about your swing speed and don’t overdo it. Right, that is a classic new golfer mistake that is seen all the time. OK, be sure to inject a little pause when you’re swinging and are at the very top of it. That pause is not supposed to be of a long duration, though. When you do pause, it’s about half of a pause, and be mindful of your body and the rhythm that is supposed to be there. There is a transition period in your swing when you pass from swinging back to forward, so if there is no pause then you’ll lose all control over the swing.
Be sure to be mindful of your body weight, and you need to keep the weight on your right foot but on the inside. For those who are just starting out, they really need to learn that one well about weight distribution. Yes, of course we know power is so important, however in order to get the most from your swing you’ll need to have that body weight unevenly distributed toward the rear in your swing. Remember, your weight goes on your right knee so you can have a smooth and consistent swing, plus power. You must maintain that steadiness factor in your game. Your right leg needs to be strong and like some kind of Greek pillar, but relaxed.
The trunk of the body plus leg muscles will give you the power you want in your swings. Your swing power is not in your arms. OK? It’s not about how ‘strong’ your arms are. The thought that arms are responsible for power in a swing is understandable, but is is wholly incorrect. Hitting the ball and trying to generate power with only the muscles of your wrists and arms is dangerous and can cause injury. Your power will come from learning to harness the dynamics of your body – legs and trunk. Your stance will benefit from it. There will be much less chance of hurting your arms and wrists. Finally, you’ll get one thing you want, and that is the ability to drive the heck out of that ball.
Yes, golf can seem impossible, but still there are so many people all over the world who love it. If you love golf, then just realize that getting better will only come with learning, practice, and then time. If you really become committed to an improved golf swing, then just decide to do it and then be committed. You have to believe that you’re capable of improving your golf swing, too.
